PC Tutorial 3.. Remove the viruses from the USB drive

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and good afternoon everybody!!

So, how's today?? For whose married today, congrats!! Now, we will continue our PC tutorial..

For this part, we will focus on the topic "How to remove the viruses from the USB drive??" Seem interesting right? So, continue your reading ok? 

One of the method how these viruses can be transmitted to your PC is through USB/Pendrive...

COMMON VIRUSES such as "raymon" and "newfolder.exe" are spreadable through USB.. Virtually, most of the antivirus can not detect these viruses as a virus and if detectable, it will be having trouble to DELETE or QUARANTINE. 

This is  the steps can be taken to remove these viruses from your USB/Pendrive. 

When you plug in your USB/Pendrive to your PC, windows like below come out right??

 

Just cancel it.. and then open the "command prompt" with type "cmd" at RUN box...

Then, at the CMD, type the drive letter: and press ENTER!

now, type this..

dir/w/a AND PRESS ENTER!

this command will displayed the list of files in the USB/Pendrive.. Check if there are the following files:

*Autorun.inf

*Ravmon.exe

*New Folder.exe

*or any other exe file which may be suspicious....

If there is one of the file, this means your USB/Pendrive are CONTAMINATED!!

At cmd, type -r -a -s -h *.*, then press ENTER....

This will remove the READ ONLY, ARCHIEVE, SYSTEM and hidden file attribute from all the files...

Now, delete the file using the cmd filename, EXAMPLE delete ravmon.exe !

DELETE ALL FILES THAT ARE SUSPICIOUS!!!!

For the safety reason, scan the USB/Pendrive at AV to see FREE OF VIRUS or otherwise..

Now, remove your USB/Pendrive and then plug in back...

In many cases, the real culprit change to the "autorun.inf".. which is most of them get executed when somebody clicks OK at the dialog box... So, the infection will spread...

Next, go to *:\WINDOWS\Prefetch folder... find whether *ps files (*may be autorun or New folder.exe etc) exist or not.. if exist, just DELETE the files!!!!
